Tutorial Thursday – Slimline card ❤ la-la land crafts

Tamara here with you. Have you noticed how crazy popular slimline cards are for the last few months? They are everywhere and they are sooooo much fun to make. You don’t need fancy slimline dies to create one and today I’ll show you how to make a simple slimline card for a friend.

What you need:
white cardstock
distress oxide ink pads (tumbled glass, broken china)
blending tool
colouring medium
cutter/scissors

la-la land crafts items you need:
Stitched Sun and Clouds Die
Coffee is Life Clear Stamp Set
Summer is Here Layering Stencil
Stitched Clouds Border Die

Step 1:
Cut 3 3/4 x 8″ rectangle from white cardstock. I use watercolour paper because it’s easier to apply colour later.

  Step 2:
Take your cloud stencil and start makeing cloudy background using Broken China Distress Oxide on the bottom clouds and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide on the middle and top ones. Move your stencil, so that the clouds don’t look all the same.

Step 3:
Cut a small rectangle 2 x 3 3/4″ from white cardstock and cut o+it on the top with Cloud border die. This will be the bottom of our card.
Die cut 3 clouds: one big one and two smaller ones. Stamp your images and colour them with your chosen colouring medium and then fussy cut them.
Stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set and cut it out.

 Step 4:
Glue the white cloudy piece on the bottom of the card.

Step 5:
Add foam tape to the back of the images and sentiment.

Step 6:
Glue your images to the card base. Make sure to glue the sentiment straight.

 

Step 7:
Add some glitter to the ropes or coffe cups and that’s it. Your CAS Coffe friends card is done.
